Most of us are aware that OSHA Standard 1910.151(b) requires that a person must be trained in first aid if professional medical personnel are not readily available. The term "near proximity" has been interpreted by Federal courts to mean 3 to 4 minutes from a medical facility.

With this in mind, the Greater New York Floor Coverers Industry Promotional Fund recently hosted a First Aid and CPR Training session at the American Red Cross in Mineola, New York. Companies participating in the training were Classic Carpet, Consolidated Carpet, Commerical Flooring, Division Flooring, Sherland & Farrington, Soundtone Floors, Law Offices of Erwin Popkin and Executive Director, James Dipelesi.
