Graduating Apprentice Contest

| The New York City District Council of Carpenters held its Thirty Seventh Annual Graduating Apprentice Contest at the Labor Technical College on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. Floor Coverers had 4 apprentices competing in the contest.
The Labor Technical College is the training center for the New York City District Council of Carpenters. The apprenticeship programs are four year programs. Apprentices are scheduled for daytime training one week every eleven weeks, from September through June of each year of their apprenticeship for a total of four weeks a year (160 hours per year of related training.)
Apprentices must also work on construction job sites for signatory contractors for 1,840 hours per year as part of their on-the job training requirement. |
